The Republic of the Philippines is an archipelago of about 7,000 islands located in the western Pacific Ocean. The Philippines is bordered by Indonesia, Malaysia, Palau and the Republic of China. In reality, it is the only Southeast Asian country which does not share land borders with its neighbors.
