The Republic of the Philippines is an archipelago of about 7,000 islands located in the western Pacific Ocean. The Philippines is bordered by Indonesia, Malaysia, Palau and the Republic of China. Based on temperature, the warmest months of the year are March through October; the winter monsoon brings cooler air from November to February. May is the warmest month, and January, the coolest.
